WITNESS accepts videos that eyewitnesses have already filmed of the consequences of strikes on Ukraine. Materials are sent through a Telegram bot, reviewed by people, and — with the author’s consent — can be passed on to news outlets. An accepted video is eligible for a reward of 100 USDT.

Write to the bot
Open the bot in Telegram and press Start. Choose the language (Ukrainian or English).

Read and accept the terms
The bot shows the submission rules, the privacy policy and the license terms. Without accepting the current version, uploading is not available. The version you accepted is recorded.

Send the video
Send the video as a file (not as a regular video message), up to 1 GB and 5 minutes. Telegram lets a bot receive files only up to 20 MB; for larger files the bot gives you a one-time upload link valid for 60 minutes.

Review
A moderator checks the video manually. You receive a submission number (WIT-XXXXXXXX); with it, you can ask the bot for the status.

Decision and reward
The decision arrives in the bot. If the material is accepted, the bot asks you to choose a network and give a USDT address, and the reward of 100 USDT is paid manually after verification.

We need original footage so that it can be verified.
We accept
- Video you filmed yourself, showing the consequences of a strike on Ukraine.
- The original file sent “as a file” (Telegram’s “Send as file” option), without recompression.
- Formats: MP4, MOV, WEBM. Size up to 1 GB, duration up to 5 minutes.
- Optionally: the date and the name of the place, as text.
We do not accept
- Videos filmed by someone else, or downloaded from social networks and messengers.
- Recompressed copies, screen recordings, edited or montaged videos.
- Material that you do not have the right to pass on.
- Footage that endangers people, for example showing the faces of victims or the location of military objects.
Security and privacy
Honestly about what is protected and what is not.
- Telegram is not end-to-end encrypted with bots
- Conversations with bots in Telegram are not protected by end-to-end encryption. Telegram technically has access to what you send to the bot.
- For sensitive material, use the upload link
- For large files the bot gives a one-time link. It is also the preferable way to send sensitive material: the file goes straight to our server, bypassing the chat. The link is valid for a limited time and works once.
- This website
- The website has no analytics, trackers, cookies, external fonts or third-party scripts. We do not record IP addresses.
- We do not publish names
- We do not publish the names or Telegram identifiers of authors. Inside the system an author is represented by an internal number; the Telegram identifier is stored encrypted.
- Before you send
- Remove personal data from the file name and the description. Do not send material that shows your own location if that could put you at risk. The risks of filming and of sending are yours; think them through in advance.
Reward
Reward for an accepted video 100 USDT
For a video that has been accepted, the reward is a fixed 100 USDT.
The reward is paid after verification, manually, in USDT. Networks: TRC-20, BEP-20, Polygon, ERC-20. The exact conditions are set out in the license terms. Receiving a reward is not guaranteed: it depends on the outcome of the review and on the terms.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to register on the website?
No. Everything is done in the Telegram bot. The website only describes the process.
Why must the video be sent “as a file”?
When Telegram sends a regular video, it recompresses it and may remove some of the original data. For verification, we need the original, so please use “Send as file”.
My video is larger than 20 MB. What do I do?
Send it to the bot anyway: the bot will give you a one-time upload link. The maximum is 1 GB and 5 minutes per file.
How long does the review take?
Videos are reviewed manually, so the time varies. You can ask the bot for the status at any time using your submission number. We do not promise a fixed turnaround.
Will I definitely receive the reward?
No. The reward of 100 USDT is paid for material that has been accepted after review and under the published terms. If the material is not accepted, the bot will tell you the decision and the reason.
How is the reward paid?
In USDT, manually, after verification. You choose a network (TRC-20, BEP-20, Polygon, ERC-20) and give an address in the bot. The system stores no keys or wallets.
What do you know about me?
Only what the bot receives from Telegram and what you send: an encrypted Telegram identifier, the video, the optional date and place, and the wallet address if a payment is due. We do not publish names.
Can I withdraw consent or have my video deleted after sending it?
No. Once a video has been sent, consent cannot be withdrawn and the material is not deleted on request, so please review the terms before sending. Retention periods are described above.
Is the video published on this website?
No. Videos are not published here and are not available to the public. Materials can be passed to news outlets manually, in accordance with the license terms you accept.
How can I contact you?
Only through the bot. There is no other contact channel at the moment.
